We pursue the goal of achieving social, economic and environmental sustainability through the use of local material, merging vernacular and contemporary technologies to encourage participation and social inclusion, strengthening the cultural identity of the place.

Chiwarà strives to contribute towards creating communities that dialogue with their context, where technology and nature support each other, reducing the socio-environmental impact of buildings and construction works.

We are focused on sustainability from environmental and social perspectives, designing efficient buildings that use the natural potential of the context, producing quality environments in any climate condition.

Our efforts are dedicated to working alongside communities in places with resource scarcity, understanding the unexpressed human and natural potential of the context. With this in mind we search opportunities for a meaningful engagement with communities in order to understand which interventions can give voice and form to the needs and aspirations of residents, supporting their capacity to modify their own space of living, in both physical and socio-political terms.
